How You Can Help

Operational Sustaining Donor Partners

Organizations can make an ongoing sustainable donation that specifically assists in the ongoing operational costs associated with running the food shelf. These costs include rent, insurance, and utilities.

Individual Sustaining Donor Partners

By individuals becoming sustaining donors the food shelf can purchase healthy foods at wholesale prices through various distributors at discount prices. With these discounts, the food shelf can stretch a cash donation further than an individual who chooses to donate food items. This means more healthy food for more people in need. Sustaining gifts can be scheduled  for deduction automatically from your checking account or credit card.

Individual Donations

If you aren’t quite ready to become a Sustaining Donor Partner, consider making donations throughout the year as you are able.

Direct Food Donations

The Chisholm Food Shelf accepts fresh produce, shelf stable & canned items (Not past expiration), toiletries, and blankets for emergency situations. Organizations can help support the food shelf by holding food drives during special events or at specific times of the year.

Plant an Extra Row

Your garden can help fight hunger when you plant an extra row to donate fresh produce o the food shelf. Buy seeds at your local garden store for as little as $1. The most popular fresh fruits and vegetables are apples, potatoes, carrots, green beans, tomatoes, and peppers.
